The most notable news this week is that Hana Financial Group executed a 1 trillion won equity investment in Dunamu, the largest virtual asset infrastructure company in Korea, becoming its fourth-largest shareholder. This is interpreted as the traditional financial sector betting on the future growth potential of the blockchain and digital asset markets.
Trillion-won movements were also active in the M&A market. German delivery platform company Delivery Hero drew market attention by pushing for the sale of Woowa Brothers and proposing a desired sale price of 8 trillion won. Palo Alto Networks (NASDAQ: PANW) warned that AI-based cyber attacks will become the new standard within months, emphasizing the importance of security technology. Finnish telecommunications equipment maker Nokia (NYSE: NOK) saw its stock price hit its highest level since 2009 thanks to the launch of an AI agent service.
AI-related investments continued actively in South Korea as well. Alsemi, which develops physical AI-based manufacturing innovation solutions, is accelerating the AI transformation of manufacturing sites by attracting a 7.5 billion won pre-Series B investment. Articron, a developer of NPU IP and AI-based SRAM IP generation platforms, strengthened its semiconductor design capabilities by attracting a 3 billion won pre-Series A investment.
AI legal document drafting service Mentat received a 1.1 billion won seed investment. In addition, numerous AI startups, including AI agent collaboration platform Jiks AI and Visionary, which develops the spatial intelligence data OS 'PRISM', continued their innovations by attracting investments. Furthermore, waste solar panel recycling specialist Dynamic Industry attracted a 7.2 billion won investment, while liquid biopsy-based precision diagnostics company Innogenix and vascular treatment medical device developer Enventric attracted investments of 4.5 billion won and 3 billion won, respectively, showing growth in their respective domains. Musinsa Partners invested 2 billion won in children's clothing brand operator Detami Project, and MyRealTrip sought evolution into a lifestyle platform by expanding its curation scope to beauty and wellness.
