[Trading Trend] Needle-Free Blood Glucose Monitor 'Happy Zone' Achieves the Feat of MFDS Product Approval... VIEWTEL Trading Revitalized

It is estimated that there are about 6 million diabetes patients and nearly 15 million in the pre-diabetes stage in South Korea, but only about 600,000 people actually manage their blood glucose consistently. This is due to the structural limitations of existing invasive blood glucose monitors, such as extreme pain and inconvenience from frequent blood collection, as well as the cost of replacing consumables and hygiene issues.

Amidst this, domestic healthcare tech company VIEWTEL is shaking up the domestic and international healthcare markets by obtaining Class 3 product approval from the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety for its non-invasive blood glucose management medical device 'Happy Zone'. A domestic company has solved the daunting challenge of 'needle-free blood glucose measurement,' a problem the whole world has been tackling for decades without clear commercialization references.

Immediate Earnings are in 'Deficit' but... Funds are 'Flooding In' for Non-Invasive Commercialization Technology

As the news of this commercialization has been heavily highlighted by the media since December last year, massive investment funds exceeding 10 billion KRW have been pouring into VIEWTEL up until March of this year.

As of 2024, VIEWTEL's performance shows sales of 230 million KRW and an operating loss of 1.7 billion KRW, meaning it has not yet generated significant profits based solely on financial indicators. However, venture capitals and institutional investors are betting not on the current financial statements, but on the overwhelming technological value of 'commercializing a non-invasive blood glucose monitor'.

In fact, starting with a 1 billion KRW seed investment from Gluon Bond Investment Discretionary in December 2025, they attracted about 5.1 billion KRW in funding from Intops Investment, Cape Investment & Securities, and others in January 2026. At that time, the estimated corporate value reached about 97.3 billion KRW. Subsequently, in February and March, they secured an additional investment of about 6.5 billion KRW from SL Investment, IBK Capital, Pacific Capital, etc., raising the estimated corporate value to the level of 109 billion KRW. Since mid-December when the article was published, they have been attracting investment funds from institutional investors and syndicates every month.

Considering that the corporate value was around 70 billion KRW when Seegene Medical Foundation and Gluon Bond Investment Discretionary invested about 3.8 billion KRW earlier in March 2024, the commercialization achievement of 'Happy Zone' has served as a core driving force that instantly elevated the company's valuation by more than a notch. Empowered by such explosive reactions from institutional investors, the corporate value, which was traded in the 80 billion KRW range in the over-the-counter market in early March, jumped to the 100 billion KRW level as of last week, invigorating person-to-person trading as well.

8 Years of Perseverance, Sublimating Communication and Measurement DNA into Human Biosignal Analysis

The reason VIEWTEL is highly evaluated like this undeniably lies in its unrivaled technological prowess and accuracy. Established in 2004, VIEWTEL is originally a company that has built up its technological capabilities in the fields of communication systems like smartphones and measuring instruments. Specialized in converting minute analog signals into digital data and reading them, they paid attention to the fact that "human biosignals are also essentially minute analog signals," and jumped into full-scale development of a non-invasive blood glucose monitor in 2018.

'Happy Zone', born after 8 years of research, is an innovative device that measures blood glucose simply by inserting a finger and waiting for a few dozen seconds. Going beyond merely shining a light, it integrated photoplethysmography (PPG) technology, which reads blood flow by irradiating an LED light source of a specific wavelength, and spectroscopy technology, which analyzes the optical characteristics of light.

The most core differentiation is the 'real-time filtering of physical noise'. By fully mobilizing everything from mechanical design to temperature sensors and pressure sensors, interference factors were minimized, and through algorithms accumulated over 8 years, they finally succeeded in extracting high-purity blood glucose data similar to actual blood collection.

As a result, they achieved an astonishing level of accuracy of 9.0% in MARD (Mean Absolute Relative Difference, where a lower number means higher precision), a key indicator that measures the performance of blood glucose devices. Usually, a figure below 10% is evaluated as very high accuracy, and achieving this figure with a non-invasive method is a highly exceptional accomplishment even in the global market. In addition, it is linked with an app to enable systematic management, and up to 2 users can register and use a single device, offering excellent economic feasibility.

They are also diversifying their product portfolio. They have already completed the development of a non-invasive continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) device in a new form factor that minimizes resistance, such as an earring type, and are ahead of commercialization procedures, while also robustly preparing a lineup for measuring metabolic indicators like ultra-small blood pressure managers and cholesterol managers.

Another axis of growth is the AI beauty device. 'ViewDerma Ai', which utilizes High-Intensity Focused Ultrasound (HIFU), is equipped with a function where artificial intelligence automatically measures the thickness of the user's facial skin and irradiates ultrasound to the safest and most accurate depth layer. This innovative product, which prevents side effects caused by uniform ultrasound irradiation, is slated for release in the first half of next year and is under discussion for strategic partnerships with major domestic beauty companies.

2026 is the Year of Earnings Turnaround... Aiming for IPO Next Year

CEO Yoon Ji-hyun stated, "We have silently forged a path with no references over the past 8 years, and now is the stage to prove our unrivaled technology with results," as he declared 2026 as the 'time of harvest' when performance will become visible.

VIEWTEL dreams of leaping into a 'biometric data-based lifestyle healthcare platform' that helps improve users' lifestyle habits and predict risk levels, moving beyond simple hardware sales. The company has selected KB Securities and Yuanta Securities as the lead underwriters for listing and plans to push for an Initial Public Offering (IPO) in earnest next year, solidifying its bold ambition to stand tall as a global healthcare unicorn company, using this non-invasive blood glucose manager sensation as a stepping stone.
