iM Securities Issues Total KRW 150 Billion in Hybrid Capital Securities... Attracts Large-Scale Investment from Korea Development Bank and Others

iM Securities Co., Ltd. (CEO Park Tae-dong) is accelerating the strengthening of its financial soundness by successfully raising large-scale funds.

According to the Financial Supervisory Service's electronic disclosure system on the 9th, iM Securities disclosed that it has decided to issue private hybrid capital securities (perpetual bonds) worth a total of KRW 150 billion through a board of directors resolution. This fundraising is being conducted for the purpose of improving financial soundness through the expansion of equity capital and securing operational funds.

This investment was structured with massive participation from a major state-run bank and key financial institutions. According to the disclosure, iM Securities will issue the hybrid capital securities in separate tranches amounting to KRW 90 billion and KRW 60 billion, respectively.

In particular, it has been confirmed that the state-run Korea Development Bank will fully acquire the KRW 90 billion from the 3rd issuance tranche. Subsequently, the KRW 60 billion from the 2nd issuance tranche will be divided and acquired by ▲Korean Reinsurance (KRW 20 billion) ▲Korea Specialty Contractor Financial Cooperative (KRW 20 billion) ▲Daishin Savings Bank (KRW 10 billion) and ▲Korea Investment Savings Bank (KRW 10 billion).

The subscription and payment dates are scheduled for July 10, 2026, for the 2nd tranche, and July 16 for the 3rd tranche. The bond maturity dates are July 10 and 16, 2056, respectively, which is a 30-year maturity, but depending on the issuer's choice, the maturity can be automatically extended by an additional 30 years each time, effectively giving them the nature of perpetual bonds (debt securities recognized as capital). The coupon rate for the 2nd tranche is 5.90% per annum, and the rate for the 3rd tranche is scheduled to be determined by reflecting the market interest rate at the time of issuance.

An official from iM Securities stated through the disclosure, "The purpose of this fundraising is to improve financial soundness through the expansion of equity capital, and the raised funds are scheduled to be entirely used as operational funds."
