Expands stake from 68.88% to 100%... Full-scale establishment of an animation value chain
ANIPLUS acquires all remaining shares of the animation-specialized OTT platform 'Laftel', incorporating it as a 100% wholly-owned subsidiary.
On the 31st, ANIPLUS (CEO Jeon Seung-taek) announced through a report on major matters that it has decided to acquire 62,250 shares (31.12% stake) of Laftel held by the counterparty, 'KD No. 2 Investment LLC', for 37 billion won. The expected acquisition date and the completion date of the transaction payment are August 10.
Upon completion of this acquisition, ANIPLUS, which previously held a 68.88% stake in Laftel, will secure a total of 200,000 Laftel shares (100% stake) and incorporate it as a wholly-owned subsidiary. The acquisition funds of 37 billion won are scheduled to be paid in cash using ANIPLUS's existing retained funds and, if necessary, additional financing.
Ichon Accounting Corporation, an external evaluation agency, applied the Discounted Cash Flow (DCF) method to calculate the equity value of Laftel at a minimum of 34.844 billion won and a maximum of 39.882 billion won, and presented an opinion that the actual acquisition amount of 37 billion won is appropriate.
Laftel is a leading domestic animation-specialized OTT platform, continuing its solid earnings growth by recording sales of 39.087 billion won and a net income of 4.244 billion won as of 2025.
An official from ANIPLUS stated, "By securing full management rights over Laftel, a core affiliate within the same consolidated group, we will maximize synergy and further strengthen our overall competitiveness in the domestic and international animation business."
